چکیده

Even though several models for toluene oxidation have been developed [3-7], the high temperature combustion of this aromatic is not fully understood. Most high temperature studies of toluene carried out to date have involved monitoring the concentration profiles of reactants, stable intermediates, and final products in flow reactors using GC analyses. However, the ignition process of hydrocarbons is, to a large extent, controlled by the transient radical pool (H, OH, C6H5, C6H5CH2, CH3 etc.) and very little information concerning radical concentration profiles during the ignition process is available in the literature. Detailed measurements of radical time histories would provide additional, important targets for chemical kinetic models, leading to improved model predictions of global kinetic parameters, which is important from an engineering perspective.

The potential of low temperature extraction method for analysis of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in refined olive and refined pomace olive oils by HPLC/FLD

Background and Objectives: A method was developed and validated for determining 15 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in refined olive and refined pomace olive oils using high performance liquid chromatography coupled with a fluorescence detector. Materials and Methods: The sample preparation involved liquid–liquid extraction with organic solvent and low temperature clean-up. The low temp...

Hazardous Waste Disposal by Thermal Oxidation

Ideally, the flue gas resulting from high-temperature oxidation of hydrocarbons (HC) contains CO 2 , H 2 O, N 2 , O 2 and some acceptable levels of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and oxides of sulfur (SOx). In reality, the flue gas from a combustion process contains CO 2 , H 2 O, N 2 , O 2 and some concentration of carbon monoxide (CO), unburned hydrocarbons (UHC), NOx and SOx .

Determination of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Ambient Urban Air

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHS) have been determined in the atmosphere of Isfahan, Iran. Airborne particulate matter was sampled using a high-volume air sampler at roof-top level (~6m). Extraction of PAHS from airborne particulate matter has been performed using SFE system and the relationship between the extraction temperature and the recovery of PAHS</su...

The Role of Aldehydes as Degenerate Branching Intermediate in the Oxidation of Hydrocarbons

The thermal oxidation of propane in the temperature range 350-425oC was studied in order to elucidate the role of higher aldehydes as degenerate branching intermediates in the oxidation of hydrocarbons. In the slow combustion of propane, the high yield of propylene and methanol as the primary products, the formation of hydrogen peroxide, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, formaldehyde and steam a...

SEPARATION OF POLYCYCLIC AROMATIC HYDROCARBONS WITH MIXED MICELLAR HIGH PERFORMANCE LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY

Separation of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons was performed by RP-HPLC using mixed micellar mobile phase. Effect of temperature, types and amounts of coorganic solvent in mobile phase on efficiency, asymmetry factor and selectivity factor showed that the appropriate condition for separation of these compounds was 3% isopropanol (V/V) as co-organic solvent in mobile phase at 40°C. Analysis of...
